I knew from a young age that I wanted to work directly with people in some capacity, helping individuals reach their goals. During my undergraduate experience at Cal State Long Beach, I traveled and studied abroad in South Africa as part of a Human Development course. While there, we worked in a variety of settings and aspects of community outreach - we volunteered at a convalescent home, as well as at an orphanage; we helped run an after-school program, and helped provide education related to AIDS prevention. It was one of the most important experiences of my life to date and set me on track to want to work with others in a therapeutic setting. Shortly after, I declared my major in Psychology and received my BA. I went on to earn my Master's in Counseling Psychology at Mount St. Mary's University and did an internship at a community mental health clinic. Since 2015, I have worked both in community mental health and in private practice settings. In community mental health settings, I have worked with adults and adolescents, with individuals and couples and I ran substance abuse prevention groups with adolescent clients. A good deal of my experience in this setting was co-occurring substance abuse and mental health treatment. In private practice, I enjoy working with adults that experience a variety of life stressors and circumstances including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions and career changes, grief and loss, infertility, addiction and infidelity. I truly enjoy working with others and find it an honor to witness the incredible growth I have seen in my clients - from identifying and removing the obstacles in their life to building their desired lives.
